Reflection: Multiple Choice GroupWork

The breakdown of our analysis was going through each individual question that we missed and understanding what type of question it was. There was a pattern of questions that we have missed. Some of the type of questions we missed were questions that asked about tone, authors purpose, rhetorical devices and  main idea. My number one way of trying to attack of I come across this type of question is simply break it down to like maybe how does this piece of text make me feel or what did I grasp from this text.
The primary difference between me and my self with the mock exam and working in as a group is simply I can't focus well with a group or not everyone in the group wants to pay attention also I feel like it's a majority rules even tho I believe it's something else. I work really well as seen on the mock exam by myself and alone without any distractions. There wasn't a lot I can really take out of the group work for them simply reason I know I didn't even perform close to what I should have or would have if I was alone. For example the mock exam was like 55 questions the group work was I think about 55 question I got 38 right in the mock exam I got 25 right on the group work.  Like I said before I didn't learn anything valuable from my group when they are constantly on their phones or fooling arou nd or walking round the classroom looking at other people's work.  I  believe the group work doesn't help us at all on the exam because we won't have the opportunity to bounce ideas off each other like were supposed to in group work.
When it comes to the test it's self I don't struggle with lot of vocab because I can easily figure it out based on the I formation around it. I do however struggle with luke authors purpose because I don't know what the author is wanting to convey to his audience I may see the authors work as one thing and another person may see it as another so I can't really get the hang of that one concept. I can try to address this issue by I guess trying to put myself in their shoes and seeing the big picture.
Time management with a group and by myself goes back to a previous statement, I can't efficiently work in a group without them being distracted with their phones or each other. I do tend to work better by myself and I hope what I did the day of the mock exam will stay with me because as long as I continue doing what I did that day I'll pass with flying colors.
