Reflection: Multiple Choice GroupWork

The breakdown of our analysis was going through each individual question that we missed and understanding what type of question it was. There was a pattern of questions that we have missed. Some of the type of questions we missed were questions that asked about tone, authors purpose, rhetorical devices and  main idea. My number one way of trying to attack of I come across this type of question is simply break it down to like maybe how does this piece of text make me feel or what did I grasp from this text.      The primary difference between me and my self with the mock exam and working in as a group is simply I can't focus well with a group or not everyone in the group wants to pay attention also I feel like it's a majority rules even tho I believe it's something else. I work really well as seen on the mock exam by myself and alone without any distractions. There wasn't a lot I can really take out of the group work for them simply reason I ...

Reflection: AP Language/Composition Mock Exam

The mock exam was an experience like no other and not really in a good way. I was so nervous going in because I have seen my grades here in class and i was afraid i wouldn't do well there because there is more people there. I expected to completely bomb the exam but i'm surprised i did really well at least on the multiple choice portion. Going in Saturday i was thankful we could sit anywhere in the library to be comfortable because the cold always helps me think so i'm glad i sat next to the windows. I do not have anxiety but i felt a little anxious starting the exam because i didn't feel confident. Once i got started and got going and set a good pace for myself i felt better and my nerves started to calm down. Almost halfway through the multiple choice i started getting a little distracted and i was not as focused and i believe that is why i missed more towards the end o f the exam than i did at the begging of the exam. If i were to choose which section of the exam i...

Margaret Thatcher: Rhetorical Analysis Final Essay

"In his lifetimes, Ronald Reagan was such a cheerful and invigorating presence" words of Margaret Thatcher on June 11,2004 in honor of former United States president  Ronald Reagan. In this eulogy for Ronald Reagan written by and spoken by Margaret Thatcher, Margaret used several different rhetorical devices. Margaret Thatcher used this eulogy to show how great a man, president, and friend. Ronald Reagan was. In lines 30-35 the use of the words "Others' and "He" shows a separation between him and the world. By repeating these words it shows how they contradict each other which in turn emphasizes what he did, showing that Reagan was a man of his own and no one was going to stand in his way of getting things done. Margret wanted to show how different Reagan was from everyone else because a lot of the time things gets lost in the news and social media. By doing so she showed how Reagan was a man for taking the initiative and making things better and to acc...

Margaret Thatcher : Rhetorical Analysis

Margaret Thatcher characterized President Ronald Reagan as a great president unquestionably well through her eulogy. "Ronald Reagan's life was providential when we look at what he achieved." Ronald carried America with him in his heart everywhere he went “freedom and opportunity” was what he stood for he Margret showed that by using both pathos and ethos as any professional writer would use to emphases her sorrow and what his life had meant to both her and all the others that he affected throughout his life. When "Others prophesied" or "saw only limits" or only lived on " hope" "He" rose to the occasion and took initiative and " inspired" "transformed" "and " won" while also "turning [enemies] into friends". Ronald carried american with him in his heart everywhere he went “freedom and opportunity” was what he stood for he Margret showed that.
