Synthesis Essay Analysis

Each essay brought something different to the table in essay one however it should receive a 5 because even though the author did develop a position on the side of preserving everyday writing he lacked the amount of reasons to support why it is important. The author simply stuck with one reason throughout the essay about it needing to be preserved because of the "history would be lost" if it was not preserved. While only using one reason he took at least sources to back up this one reason. I enjoyed the sources they used however in the second paragraph there was not a clear transition of ideas. The author felt lost in there writing in part of it and was unclear on how they wanted the essay to go. Even though the author does still have but one simple reason both his intro and conclusion lacked clarity and depth it was not a captivity ways to start nor to end the essay. This essay was not awarding a 6 because the sources were there they were mixed and unclear of the main purpose of the essay. The explanation was short and choppy and not well thought out. This essay, however, was not a 4 because the author did use 3 or more sources along with they developed a position and stuck with that one essay. The  author had no rebuttal and did not try to see how the argument would counter the argument. This was a lovely essay but it felt rushed and incomplete better luck next time.
Essay two was quite worse than essay one. While having more than one reason, the author was very unclear about where she was going with source b and then without finishing the thought goes to source d. Another reason this essay will receive a lower score is that the author did not have their own reasons the author simply took the source's reasons and fed off them like that instead of having their own thought and using the sources to backup as they are saying. The author while also having more reasons only had two and did not have a rebuttal. Again the essay was very unclear and yes they developed a position they are receiving a 3 because of all of the above reasons along with a few more. The author had several spelling errors and grammar was poor. The author was simple and not elaborate on any of the information. Again the essay was rushed and not well thought out and for that, it received the score above. It did not receive a 4 because the essay showed less maturity in control of writing making it a 3. It also did not make a 2 because the author made a position and stuck with it the sources cited were correct in contexts but not sited the way it should properly be sited. The author needs to work on staying focused and think out the essay and using their own ideas, not just the sources are given. Personal experience or past knowledge would have helped the essay receive a larger score.

Essay three is much worse than either of the other two essays. In essay three the author never establishes a clear position rocking back and forth between needing to preserve everyday writings and then talking about every reason why it is useless and meaningless to “organize a billion tweets”. Along with the lack of position the other does use plenty of source in accurately. Without having a clear position it makes the essay rough and unorganized making it immature and not impressing. There really is nothing good to say about this essay. The author never sets one side and gives no clear reasons to anything. The essay tells why you should not preserve the everyday writings and that was not the prompt the prompt was clear which one of these should you preserve and why. Because of all of the unclarity and uncertainty of this essay the essay will receive a 2. The sources were unclear and used inappropriately no position was ever really established and the essay was not well thought out. The author needs to take their time reread their essay and ask if that essay was worth the 9 because the essay was not even worth a 2 but the author did try somewhat.
